We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school that supports pupils with complex needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children who require additional support to access education.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to assist pupils with a range of special educational needs, which may include autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Your support will help students engage with lessons, develop social and life skills, and feel safe and confident within the school environment.
Responsibilities may include supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging independence, and helping pupils regulate their behaviour and emotions. You may also assist with personal care where required, ensuring that each pupil’s wellbeing and dignity are always maintained.
The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience working in SEN, care, support work, or youth work is beneficial, but not essential, as training and guidance will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education, psychology, therapy, or specialist support work, or for those who simply want to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and rewarding environment.
If you are enthusiastic about helping children reach their full potential and thrive in a supportive team setting, we would love to hear from you.
