Experienced Maintenance Cleaner

Pay rate: from £12.21 per hour| weekly pay in arrears, every Friday
Schedule: Monday- Friday | 8am - 5pm OR 4 on 4 off 0700 - 1900

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for an Maintenance Cleaner to work with our client, who is a Waste Management specialist, based in the Glasgow area.
As an Maintenance Cleaner you will provide cleaning services for a variety of recycling equipment, remove debris, waste, and recyclables from sorting lines, conveyors, scrapers, idlers, rollers, motors, and other machinery, ensuring proper disposal in designated areas. The position requires physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and labour in a potentially dusty, noisy, and odorous setting.
This is not a Janitor , Office or Warehouse Cleaning job.
Maintenance Cleaner - Duties & Responsibilities
Remove debris, waste, and recyclables from sorting lines, conveyors, scrapers, idlers, rollers, motors, and other machinery, ensuring proper disposal in designated areas
Cleaning of large-scale spaces and heavy machinery or equipment
Ensure that the working environment is kept clean, tidy and free from hazards, and that materials are stored safely at all times
Use pressure washers and industrial vacuums to clean the plant, machinery and surrounding area
Engineering – maintenance cleaning support
Work in confined spaces when the need arises
Undertake in basic manual work such as removing and replacing machine guards and covers to clean affected areas of machinery
Maintenance Cleaner - Personal Specification
Good physical condition to handle the demands of the role
Worked within busy environment with many time pressures being imposed
Awareness of electrical and mechanical hazards within the plant
Ability to spend a significant amount of time on your feet
Knowledge and care for fire detection and extinguishing equipment
Manual handling and working with hand tools
