Mencap are looking for caring and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team in Spixworth on a part time basis (20 hours per week). This is a rewarding opportunity to support three individuals to build their independence and enjoy meaningful experiences in their community.

At this service, the people we support enjoy spending time out and about. They love going out for evening meals, attending social clubs and taking part in local events. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in making these experiences happen, helping to plan activities, providing encouragement and ensuring each person feels confident and included.

Your role will focus on promoting independence and supporting with day-to-day tasks. This includes assisting with shopping, attending activities and day centres, accompanying individuals to appointments, supporting with household tasks and helping them develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible. You will take the time to understand each person’s hobbies and interests to provide person centred support tailored to them.

The service are happy to provide long days from 7am to 10pm, or split shifts such as 7am to 3pm or 2pm to 10pm.
Every other weekend working is also a requirement to fit in with the rota system.

This role would suit someone who is compassionate, patient and motivated to make a positive impact. Previous experience in care or support work is welcome but not essential, as full training and ongoing development will be provided. What matters most is your willingness to learn and your commitment to supporting people to live fulfilling, independent lives.
