Summary

Closing date: 15 March 2026

Due to our two‑year pilot expansion of Residential Brokerage, we are excited to recruit three Brokers to join our expanding Adult Social Care Brokerage Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting people to access high‑quality, cost‑effective care and support across Derbyshire.

Following the expansion of our service to include residential care home placements for older adults, these roles will focus significantly on sourcing and negotiating residential placements—while also continuing to support general brokerage activity across home care, day opportunities, support services and other provision.

In addition to residential sourcing, you will also support the procurement of home‑care packages, ensuring timely responses, competitive pricing and the best possible match for people’s needs.

About the Role

As a Broker, you will:

  • Identify and select appropriate care home providers and other services in line with assessed needs.
  • Negotiate placement costs, service specifications, and home‑care package offers to ensure best value.
  • Work with providers, social workers, families and partners to ensure timely, person‑centred placements.
  • Use the ADAM procurement portal to support transparent, competitive sourcing of both residential and home‑care services.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the evaluation of provider performance.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, providers and external partners.

This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

About You

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Strong negotiation skills with confidence in challenging provider fee proposals.
  • Excellent communication, ICT skills, and written reporting abilities.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with providers, colleagues and people who use services.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with attention to detail.
  • Experience in social care, brokerage, negotiation, commissioning, or similar fields (desirable).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards this.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a newly strengthened residential brokerage function making a real difference to Derbyshire residents.
  • Work in a supportive team environment with opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • Help shape brokerage practice in a service committed to innovation, cost efficiency and high‑quality outcomes.
