Summary

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Burgess Hill
Salary: £22,000 - £23,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15am - 3:30pm (Term Time)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Burgess Hill. This role involves working closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support

  • Assist students in managing emotional regulation and behaviour

  • Support classroom learning and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCO

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs (school or care background)

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Calm, resilient and patient approach

  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
