Summary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours per week: 8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch break, term time only plus 3 days INSET training days per year (31.25 hours per week)
The governors of this successful primary school wish to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of children with additional needs. The successful candidate will join our enthusiastic, committed, and professional team of staff.The role is initially based in Year R, to support children’s progress and small step targets. The successful candidate will:
• have experience of working with children in an educational setting
• be self-motivated and able to use their own initiative
• follow direction from the class teacher and SENCo
• be proactive in adapting resources and activities
• work as part of a team, with excellent communication skills, a sense of humour and the ability to share ideas and learn from each other
• build a strong relationship with children in the class & the wider school
• have high expectations for children’s learning, behaviour and personal development
• have a resilient and flexible approach as the day may not always go as planned
• be 100% supportive of fully inclusive education for children with additional needs
• support both indoor and outdoor learning
• work with a range of outside agencies and professionals within school
• be supportive of the school’s Christian ethos
• to work within an equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory framework and be an advocate of all aspects of diversity within our school community
