Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our client team in Cornwall on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on residents’ lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector. The role requires excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Support individuals with their care plans, ensuring personalised needs are met with compassion and respect
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
Help with meal preparation and assist during mealtimes as required
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
Support with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments, where necessary
Adhere to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures
This is a permanent role & we are only looking for full-time candidates.
No sponsorship will be available for this role.
Skills
Driving licence is desirable for supporting home care services and outings
Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail in all aspects of care delivery
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 37 – 60 per week
Ability to commute/relocate:
Cornwall: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
