Summary
When your groceries arrive at your door or you sign for an online parcel, it’s likely that one of our software, telematics, or proof‑of‑delivery solutions has played a part. Our technology underpins operations for many of the UK’s leading grocery retailers, food logistics providers, and household names including JCB, Eddie Stobart, Carlsberg, Waitrose, and Tesco.
As we continue our rapid expansion, we are seeking a passionate and commercially astute Senior Account Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Sales Manager – Account Management, you will play a pivotal strategic role in shaping customer relationships, identifying long‑term growth opportunities, and ensuring our solutions deliver maximum value.
What you will be doing
Lead strategic account planning, developing multi‑year growth plans aligned with customer objectives and Microlise’s commercial priorities.
Own the creation and management of a forward‑looking opportunity pipeline, ensuring a balanced mix of upsell, cross‑sell, and new solution adoption.
Influence senior stakeholders within customer organisations, positioning Microlise as a trusted strategic partner rather than a supplier.
Achieve revenue and profitability targets on a quarterly basis by taking a proactive approach to commercial planning and deal shaping.
Generate and convert high‑value sales opportunities, ensuring both revenue and margin are maximised.
Conduct an average of four strategic customer meetings per week, complemented by ongoing engagement and follow‑up activity.
Ensure Microlise is front‑of‑mind for all relevant workstreams, driving early involvement in customer projects where our solutions can add value.
Champion customer success, ensuring satisfaction and retention across your portfolio, while continually identifying opportunities for expanded solution deployment.
Represent Microlise at briefings, seminars, and industry events, supporting brand presence and pipeline development.
Provide expert, consultative advice on our full Product Portfolio, articulating how our technology solves critical business challenges.
Maintain strong personal development across product, industry, and sales best practice - particularly in transport, supply chain, and mobile solutions.
Deliver timely, accurate quotations and proposals, ensuring all commercial governance is followed and any discounting is appropriately approved.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrable experience in a strategic Customer Account Manager or Senior Account Manager role.
Proven track record in hardware, software, or IT solution sales, ideally in complex or multi‑stakeholder environments.
Strong aptitude for understanding how technology solutions address real business problems and create measurable value.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Sound commercial awareness across sectors such as transport, logistics, retail, automotive, or distribution.
Highly self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously.
Well‑organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally as required, plus a full driving licence.
