Summary
We are looking for a dedicated, motivated and clinically experienced sister/charge nurse and or senior charge nurse to support and lead the nursing team in the HIVOutpatient clinic mainly based in Grahame Hayton Unit. The successful candidate will be involved in service delivery, clinical development programs, the support and development of the nursing team to provide a safe, compassionate and high quality patient focused care.
Leadership and managerial skills are essential for this post and the applicant must have broad Acute and HIV & Sexual Health specialist medicine experience. They need to be able to demonstrate a strong desire to progress to a senior nursing role with proven experience, working with MDT in managing complex patients’ needs.
The post holder will be expected to:
· Be a positive confident role model, undertaking hands on clinical work as well as supervising and monitoring practice.
· Possess excellent communication and people management skills allowing close working with individuals and teams to develop and maintain services.
· Provide evidence of a continuing professional and personal development
To lead by example as an expirienced practitioner providing organizational and leadership to the multidisciplinary team in Grahame Hayton Unit. To ensure that the unit is well led and that the teams are being proactive in the delivery of patient care.Deputize for the HIV Network Lead Nurse in their absence.
The post holder will be part of the HIV medicine team which provides a comprehensive HIV and sexual health service based at the Grahame Hayton Unit and the other hospital sites.
He/she will take a lead for the assessing, planning, implementation and education of nursing care provided for persons with HIV/AIDS at both outpatient and inpatient settings and to act as a bridge to the community.
The post holder will work as an experienced nurse specialist, providing best quality nursing care to patients, their relatives and significant others. This will take the form of an holistic approach taking into account the biological, social, psychological and emotional factors that impact on health, so that strategies can be applied that promote good health as well as focusing on ill health.
He/she will provide relevant, up to date and ongoing education support and training for nurses and student nurses working, or on placement, at the Trust, in consultation with the professional development nurses.
