Shift pattern: 6am to 6pm, 6pm to 6am - 4 on 4 off
ROLE OBJECTIVE/ PURPOSE
• To work as a Hygiene Operative as part of the Cryogenics team, to manufacture food to written
specifications meeting pre-determind quality and safety attributes.
• Following appropriate training, you will undertake these duties, correctly, safely and efficiently.
• Always ensuring these duties are completed in line with Company policies, including but not
limited to, PPE, Food safety, allergen management, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice, Food safety and allergen procedures are followed at all
times.
• Ensure 3 hourly floor and drain cleans are performed on time and to high standard
• Ensure you operate ‘clean as you go’ and carry out any other hygiene duties as directed by your
Supervisor.
• To read and understand instruction (written and/or verbal), and Standard Operating Procedures
(SOP) accurately.
• To ensure that documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Actively work towards a zero level of complaints for your area and work to a ‘Right first time’
policy.
• To work to Company objectives of minimal waste, maximum efficiency.
• Conduct Pre-Start and Chemical checks and replace as required.
• Complete Monthly/Weekly/Daily Factory area cleaning tasks.
• Complete Monthly/Weekly/Daily Factory equipment cleaning tasks.
• Carry out post cleaning checks on your own work.
• Monitor and restock gloves, hair nets, beard snoods etc. dispensers within production, changing
rooms and warehouses as required.
• Restock laundry lockers and place soiled overalls in laundry bags and prepare the cage for
collection/replenishment.
• Provide support and assistance to production team during customer audits.
• Be flexible to be able to allocate resources to incidents such as spillages.
• Ensure the hygiene schedule is adhered to at all times.
• Complete paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
• To undertake training as required.

• Always work safely – consider safety of yourself and others.
• Achieve a high standard of punctuality and attendance.
• The above responsibilities and duties are not exhaustive, as required and directed by your
manager/supervisor to accept changes in responsibility or other duties suitable to knowledge or
training.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Experience of working in an industrial cleaning position would be ideal; factory experience in
general would be beneficial.
• Good communication skills, including a good command of English.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and operators.
• Ability to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to follow procedures (including health and food safety) and work to routine tasks ensuring
required standards are achieved.
• Ability to work to deadlines, focusing on the tasks required in the given timescales.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
• Good communication skills in order to both understand technical cleaning requirements and also
to report any issues as they arise in a clear manner.
• Self-motivated and organised to be able to work alone.
• Hard working
• Trustworthy and reliable.
• High standards of work, consistently.
