Summary

We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Construction team based in Solihull, West Midlands.

Location: Solihull, West Midlands Hours: Full time, permanent

As a Senior Design Manager, you'll play a crucial role in leading design processes throughout both pre-construction and delivery phases. Working closely with the Head of Design you'll manage all aspects of design, while supporting junior team members in their development. This collaborative role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong people management skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities to achieve outstanding project outcomes.

What will you be responsible for? As a Senior Design Manager, you'll be working within the Design Management team, supporting them in delivering excellent design outcomes across all project phases. Your day to day will include:

-Leading the delivery of all design aspects, supervising the design management team, and coordinating with design consultants

-Creating and implementing design management strategies aligned with commercial goals and project requirements

-Managing design risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations including CDM and Building Safety Act

-Leading the review and approval process for design team documents, checking for compliance and buildability

-Collaborating with project teams to ensure design information is delivered to programme, supporting successful project delivery

What are we looking for? This role of Senior Design Manager is great for you if:

-You have construction qualifications (minimum HND/HNC/T level or equivalent) and ideally membership with a professional institute such as CIOB, ARB, or ICE

-You bring experience working on Educational, Healthcare, Science, Commercial, Civic or Community schemes between £15-£80 million

-You have excellent knowledge of building regulations, statutory legislation, and other relevant requirements

-You're skilled in people management and can nurture team development while building collaborative relationships

-You have experience with document management systems, BIM reviewing software, and ISO 19650 processes
