Summary


An opportunity has arisen for you to join our Gynaecology Assessment Unit team, St Mary's Hospital MCS at North Manchester Hospital, within Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent position at 37.5 hours per week (part time will be considered)

NMC register and NMC PIN is a requirement for all candidates.

GAU is a day service and this role includes 7.30am-20.30 shifts Monday to Friday and weekends 08.30-16.30, with a plan to extend these hours to 24 hour care.

Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU)provides emergency service to patients with gynaelogical problems and any problems in early pregnancy (up to 16 weeks gestation). We work alongside our Consultant and Medical to support the patients coming through our service. Women's Health must be a passion for all candidates.



You will gain experience in an acute emergency gynaecology setting, this is a fast paced environment with a high foot fall through the unit. You will work within an experienced MDT team and will be supported with a supernumerary period. Completion of the Emergency Gynaecology Course is of benefit but not essential as the successful candidate will be enrolled on the Emergency Gynaecology Course providing you with the skills to see, treat and discharge all pregnancy related patients.
Please note that a significant part of the role as a Staff Nurse in GAU is to provide high quality, bereavement care for patients and their families who are going through early pregnancy loss.

The successful candidate will play an essential role in assessing and triaging the patient and delivering timely care, ensuring clear communication with the MDT.
