Summary

Clinical Responsibilities Undertake comprehensive specialist assessments of children and adolescents with complex co-morbid mental health presentations. Deliver appropriate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions either independently or jointly with Hub clinicians. Formulate and implement robust crisis and contingency plans in collaboration with CYP and families, including positive risk-taking approaches. Manage clinical risk effectively, holding medium to high-risk cases and ensuring safety planning is documented on the electronic patient record. Oversee initial assessments and facilitate timely referrals, warm handovers, or discharge with clearly defined care and safety plans. Provide consultation and specialist advice to professionals across the CYP network and CYPS Division. Communicate sensitive and complex information clearly and compassionately to CYP, families, and carers. Leadership and Management (Band 7) Lead the setting, monitoring, and maintenance of high standards of clinical care within the Hub. Identify and address clinical practice concerns that may negatively impact care delivery. Provide clinical leadership and expert guidance to clinicians within the service. Support staff in managing complex, distressing, or high-risk clinical situations. Act as a visible role model, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and professional practice. Supervise, mentor, and support junior colleagues and students; liaise with the Clinical Placement Facilitator to align placements with educational requirements. Contribute to and oversee the Hub duty rota, offering oversight and guidance to junior staff. Work collaboratively with the Service Manager to ensure robust clinical governance processes are in place and quality standards are consistently met. Governance, Quality and Service Development Ensure implementation and audit of agreed outcome measures across the team. Contribute to research initiatives and support the integration of evidence-based practice across the care pathway. Lead the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols relevant to the service area. Maintain working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection policies, and procedures relating to children and vulnerable adults. Partnership and Multi-Agency Working Work closely with partner agencies within the Mindworks network during office hours to respond to referrals and provide coordinated care. Collaborate effectively within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT) supporting CYP with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Provide consultation and liaison support to education, health, and social care professionals as required.
