Summary
You will support the existing team in their multi departmental service delivery, across seven days including public holidays. You will provide a service to the very busy and demanding blood sampling room, for patients attending clinics of varying specialities. Duties include blood sampling for patients on all acute wards, medical, surgical and high-risk infection departments. Whilst previous phlebotomy experience is beneficial, all applicants will be considered as full training is provided. You will commence at Band 2, progressing to Band 3 after a minimum period of 6 months and on successful completion of training and competencies. NICU, fistula and vascular training will also be provided. Applicants invited to interview will be expected to complete and pass an assessment of basic numeracy and literacy prior to interview. Candidates with previous experience will be required to demonstrate their skill in a practical test. Please note that we are unable to offer fixed shifts.Shift patterns are as follows: 2 posts x 19 hours per week to include 3 shifts per week Monday to Friday (07:00-12:00 or 12:00-17:00) or 2 shifts Monday to Friday when on weekend rotation, every other weekend and rotational bank holidays (07:00-11:00).
