About the role
Pay Details: £25,583 - £26,403 Pro Rata £13.26 - £13.69 Per Hour

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 3 hours per day over 3 days (9 hours in total). The role includes 2 hours in the morning to open the Centre and 1 hour in the evening to close the Centre.

Main Place of Work: Palmerston Community Learning Centre, Cadoc Crescent, Barry CF63 2NT

Temporary Reason: Subject to on-going funding


Description: A responsible and enthusiastic handyperson is required for Palmerston Community Learning Centre. The duties involve the opening and closing of the centre, porterage, maintenance, decorating and repairs, and security of the building. Flexible hours to be negotiated with line manager, but will include days, evenings and occasional weekends.

About you
You will need:

To be responsible for opening and closing of the building, including operating the alarm, security shutters, etc. and readying it for staff each day.
Some experience of carrying out DIY tasks and minor repair work and basic maintenance including painting and decorating.
A basic knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Risk and ability to complete basic safety checks.
To be happy to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, learners and visitors to the Centre.
