Governors for Schools is a national education charity committed to ensuring every school, trust and college benefits from excellent governance. We connect diverse, talented volunteers with governing boards that need their skills — improving outcomes for children and young people across the country.

We’re currently looking for a proactive, people-focused Recruitment Resourcer to help us match skilled volunteers with impactful governance opportunities.

What you’ll do

Volunteer Recruitment & Matching
• Create eye catching volunteer adverts using our CRM and Canva.
• Promote roles on job boards and proactively source potential candidates.
• Review new applications against our current vacancies to effectively match their experience with the roles.
• Carry out targeted outreach for priority vacancies.
• Ensure volunteers receive an exceptional experience.

Relationship & Process Management
• Keep CRM records accurate and up to date.
• Build warm, professional relationships with volunteers and partner schools/trusts/colleges.
• Understand and be able to translate key volunteer preferences and motivations into matches against school, trust and college needs
• Follow up with unresponsive volunteers to keep placements moving.
• Assist in identifying new leads and partnership opportunities.

Administration & Support
• Manage our information inboxes.
• Oversee remote video conferencing facility (Zoom, Teams) account setup for presentations and collect/collate attendance data.
• Ensure volunteers can access our ongoing training and support offer, coordinating invites and attendance where needed.
• Manage scheduled contact points with vacancy holders.
What we’re looking for
• Someone organised, friendly and confident communicating via email and phone.
• A natural relationship builder who enjoys helping others succeed.
• A detail oriented professional who manages multiple tasks with care.
• Experience in recruitment or volunteer management is helpful, but not essential.

Role details
• Part time: 3 days per week
• Wednesdays and Thursdays required
• One additional day can be flexible
• Homebased, with occasional travel for team meetings
• Work alongside our supportive Partnerships and Marketing teams
• Contribute directly to our strategic goals of increasing governor placements and growing our national profile.

Working with Governors for Schools, you’ll be able to impact the education of thousands of children, as well as helping people develop their skills by volunteering as a governor. We have team away days twice a year, so there'll be occasional travel to take part in these.
• Flexible working - Our working day allows you work within the hours of 7am - 7pm. We ask that working hours include 10am-3pm (with a lunch break!) to allow time for meetings with colleagues. The role working days are set out as above.
• Generous holiday allowance of 33 days (pro rata for part time employees) including Bank Holidays.

• Volunteer hours given to carry out a governor role.
