We have an opportunity for 2 Night Care Workersto join our Adult Residential Care team in Hazel Grove.

30 hour role – salary is £19,760.00annual salary(guaranteed £1,646.67 monthly)

20 hour role – salary is £13,173.33annual salary(guaranteed £1,097.78 monthly)

Shifts are worked in a block of 10 hours and can be worked on any day of the week including weekends. Additional shifts are available to support the team rota.

Enhanced pay of time and a quarter at weekends and hours worked during the week between 11pm and 6am.

We are looking for a Night Care Worker who can complete the full range of tasks required.

About the position….

  • As a Night Care Worker, you will work as part of a team supporting adults during the night, some of which have complex health conditions, domestic duties and appropriate record keeping in accordance with legislation and regulation. Another member of staff will sleep within the unit and can be disturbed if there is an emergency.
  • Support includes ventilation, tracheostomy, gastrointestinal tract support and peg feeding.
  • A major part of this role is the administration of medication, moving and handling and personal care.
  • You will follow hospital care plans and processes therefore completing and updating of these forms in a concise manner is a requirement of the role.
  • Due to the intensity of the service users, you must have a good understanding of English and be happy to complete all the paperwork and care plans to a good quality.
  • This role requires Lone Working. Another member of staff will sleep within the unit and can be disturbed if there is an emergency.
  • You will support the service user with communication and work closely in a team that has a passion to improve their lives whilst in our care.

About you….

Do you have the skills we are looking for.

  • An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
  • You must have a good understanding of English and IT skills and be happy to complete all the paperwork and care plans to a good quality. Which includes daily recording on IT systems and other records such as incident reports.
  • Competence in administering medication and simple medical procedures for the young people as appropriate, and a willingness to undertake training if required.
  • Take responsibility for the security and maintenance of the house/unit during the night, including housekeeping duties as required and utilising the sleep-in member of staff or on-call manager as required.
