Summary


We are nationally recognised for our commitment to delivering high quality, compassionate care, and are currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our established and friendly renal dialysis team.

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton operate dialysis services across three sites delivering both acute and chronic haemodialysis. As we continue to expand our dialysis provision, we are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for new team members to join us at our Burton Dialysis Unit.

Previous experience in renal dialysis is not required, as comprehensive support is provided for all staff. Our Practice Development Facilitator ensures that every new starter receives guidance and mentoring throughout their induction. In addition, a carefully designed competency package is available to help new team members develop the skills for the role. Training will take place on the Derby site.

To succeed in this position, you must demonstrate adaptability in the working environment and be willing to further your clinical skills. The Renal Dialysis Units are operational from Monday to Saturday, offering dialysis sessions to patients in the morning, afternoon and evening. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to cover shifts across these hours, working four days per week. Opportunities for cross-site working are also supported, providing further avenues for professional development.

· Ensuring consistent delivery of patient care, assessing care needs & implementing agreed nursing and clinical standards.

· Delivering haemodialysis treatment to CKD patients who attend the unit 3 times a week.

· Managing a clinical workload

· Working with the MDT to ensure that the needs of the complex chronic patients are met.

· Monitoring the quality of care delivered using clinical standards & audit and in conjunction with other members of the MDT takes necessary action to ensure excellence in nursing practice.

· Participating in professional and personal development of the Nursing Team.

· Supporting the nursing team in the clinical area to minimise and identify potential environmental & clinical risks.
