Summary
Key Responsibilities Provide daily operational leadership for the Talking Therapies clinical care coordinator team, acting as point of contact for clinicians and service users and understanding escalation procedures. Undertake clinical triage and screening of referrals to determine suitability, urgency, and appropriate care pathways. Maintain oversight of open cases requiring clinical care coordinator input, ensuring timely and consistent management. Provide support to pathway lead to maintain a high standard of delivery including reviewing concerns or complaints in relation to the pathway. Clinical Risk Assessment Undertake structured clinical safety assessment (including suicide risk, self-harm, aggression, and vulnerability) using recognised frameworks. Provide immediate advice and support to therapists and administrative staff in responding to emerging or elevated risk to safety of self and other risks. Support development of high-quality safety management plans for service users presenting with complex or higher-risk presentations. Safeguarding & Multi-Agency Working Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation, local safeguarding procedures (children, adults), and multi-agency pathways. Act as a designated safeguarding officer (DSO) for safeguarding queries, and coordinate referrals to external agencies (e.g. secondary mental health services, police, social care), escalating concerns as appropriate. Participate in multi-agency meetings and case discussions as required, representing the Talking Therapies service. Clinical Governance & Quality Champion adherence to service operational standards, policies, and safety management procedures. Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities related to clinical care coordinator function, safety management practice, and safeguarding. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with organisational standards. Training & Supervision Provide informal supervision, guidance, and coaching on intake processes and safety assessment to staff. Deliver or facilitate local training on clinical care coordinator practice, safeguarding updates, and multi-agency procedures. Communication Maintain effective communication with internal teams, external partners, service users, carers, and referrers. Provide escalation pathways for out-of-hours or specialist queries in line with service policies. Working Conditions Daily point of contact for staff within core service hours office based within main premises at Riverside Park. Service hours operate from 8am to 8pm, and there will be an expectation to provide late day cover on selected weekdays as part of agreed workplan. Will involve telephone or video work and liaison with external agencies. Accountability & Reporting Reports toIntake and Liaison Pathway Lead Works closely with Clinical staff, Safeguarding leads, Secondary Mental Health Services, Social Care, GP Practices, and Partner agencies including voluntary sector.
