Summary


We are seeking motivated, resilient, and forward-thinking professionals to join our Site Management Team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care across the Trust—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is a high-profile leadership role offering the opportunity to influence patient flow, capacity management, and clinical decision-making at a Trust-wide level.

As a Site Manager, you will provide visible, responsive clinical and managerial leadership, holding accountability for service delivery and operational advice both in and out of hours.

You will lead and co-ordinate an evidence-based capacity management service, promoting a dynamic, efficient flow of patients throughout the Trust while optimising the use of capacity and maintaining an environment that supports excellent patient care.

Accountable for service delivery for the site capacity provision within the Trust
• To proactively manage Site capacity in and out of hours, ensuring that safe and effective decision making occurs to streamline the patient journey at admission, transfer and discharge.
• To provide real time capacity information to internal and external stakeholders through the provision of accurate reporting including situation reporting and escalation management systems
• To deliver professional and operational priorities from a corporate perspective
• To support senior colleagues across a spectrum of general and operational management issues aimed at managing overall capacity and patient flow.
• To maintain a leading role in the management of clinical capacity to accommodate elective and emergency admissions
• To facilitate staff and team development and ensure effective communication systems operate corporately.

• To ensure 24-hour provision of service, through the use of proactive site management, patient flow and capacity utilisation, in line with Trust and national guideline.
• To ensure own and Clinical Site Management Team's compliance with all Trust policies, Integrated Discharge Policy, Trust Capacity & Demand Escalation Plan, Inter-site Transfer Policy and all relevant clinical policies. When required assume the leadership role in internal incident management and Major incidents as described within key Trust Policies and procedures. Lead on incidents which impact on business continuity, service interruption, and clinical internal and external incidents and participate in additional actions which impact on the safe and efficient running of the site.
• Co-ordinate admissions via the Emergency and urgent pathways using clinical assessment skills for patient placement through various admission pathways.
• Provide Leadership and expert advice to nursing staff acting as a point of contact out of hours for professional nursing issues.
• Act as a strong advocate for excellent patient care, establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical and managerial leaders providing a senior nursing perspective to ensure operational delivery is patient centered.
• Have responsibility for being the first point of contact for external organisations for all enquiries relating to site capacity and patient flow or management enquiries. Undertake agreed actions as per hospital escalation guidelines. To communicate with internal staff and external agencies to ensure strategic objectives are met. This will require the ability to provide and receive highly complex and sensitive information, negotiate, influence and act with diplomacy at a high level.
• Chair capacity meetings, as required organise and chair additional meetings where there is an organisational requirement. Ensure actions agreed are specific, timely, and realistic and are reported back upon when required. Constantly reassess actions required in response to updated communication and information and make timely decisions about the actions required to address areas of patient flow, safety, or operational site capability.
• Have responsibility for the updating of the Emergency Management System (EMS) and Bed Management system for clear visibility of information across the Site. Monitor of activity in the discharge lounge and liaise with key stakeholders on efficient and effective use as required.
