Summary
SPECIFICATION
Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Caernarfon
Hours of work: up to 6 hours per week.
Rate of pay: £12 per hour
Introduction:
A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a 6 yr old girl for up to 8 hours a week. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this family to manage her support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
Main Duties:
• The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post
• Support and encourage the young child with gaining independence and enable her to interact socially within their community.
• Some support at meal times when out.
• Support and encourage her with activities as agreed with the family – swimming, walking, outside activities that provide positive stimulation and interest.
• Establish and maintain a professional and efficient standard of care.
• Ensure her safety at all times during your working period.
• Some support with personal care and toileting .
• Have good awareness of safe manual handling and hygiene
• Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive conversation.
• Local knowledge of appropriate activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked could be off-site within the community.
• Be compassionate, caring, respectful
• Support and encourage with independent living skills.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

• Active and energetic.
• Proactive individual with local knowledge.
• A good sense of humour.
• Caring, honest, responsible and patient.
• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
• Reliable with good time keeping.
• Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
• An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.
A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.

5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate.
