Summary
Please note this is a part position
Are you passionate about fostering an inclusive environment and supporting learners with special educational needs? Imagine having a direct impact by ensuring apprentices and trainees achieve their full potential at one of the UK's most respected energy providers, UK Power Networks. As our SEND Coordinator, you'll become a key player within the Technical Training & Assurance team, based at Sundridge or Bury St Edmunds, reporting to the Engineering Trainees Manager. Join us as a permanent part-time employee and enjoy a pro-rata salary of £54,166, plus a 3% bonus.
Step into a role where your expertise matters. You will oversee and deliver UK Power Networks' Inclusion Strategy, focusing on apprentices and trainees with SEND, high needs and disadvantaged backgrounds. Your work will be aligned to Ofsted FE & Skills inclusion expectations, ensuring every learner gets the support they deserve. Your leadership will drive early screening and triage, identifying barriers to learning or wellbeing and coordinating the right support through an assess-plan-do-review approach. You'll create and monitor individual support plans, implement reasonable adjustments for learning and the workplace, and provide targeted teaching support so all learners can make progress.
Your influence extends to delivering and coordinating SEND and inclusion CPD for instructors, assessors, mentors and managers, embedding inclusive practices across the organisation. You'll collaborate with programme leads and team leaders in learner reviews, monitoring progress, attendance and achievement for SEND and disadvantaged cohorts, intervening early to secure better outcomes. Working closely with subcontractors and partner colleges, you'll assure inclusion standards and champion improvements. Maintaining high-quality records and evidence will be vital, ensuring governance, compliance and inspection readiness are always in hand.
We know great people deserve great rewards. Alongside your competitive salary, you'll enjoy 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata), private medical cover, reservist leave, and personal pension plan contributions of up to 10%.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring specialist SEND/inclusion knowledge and recent CPD, such as neurodiversity or mental health needs. Experience supporting post-16 learners and apprentices, delivering CPD and coaching to improve inclusive practice, and strong stakeholder skills will set you apart. Data-driven record-keeping and a recognised teaching or training qualification are desirable, as are specialist SEND and quality assurance credentials.
