Summary
South Derbyshire District Council is investing in its Housing Service to provide quality homes and services for tenants and the residents of South Derbyshire.
An opportunity has arisen to join our Housing Officer team as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer. This is a fast-paced, challenging environment. Team working, customer focus and engagement, a working knowledge of current benefits, together with the ability to prioritise is essential for this role together with a good standard of mathematics and English.
The Council would like to hear from hard-working, committed, enthusiastic and determined housing/benefits professionals who may be looking at a change of role and can help to deliver a frontline housing service that responds to the changing needs of customers and the new regulatory framework. The Tenancy Sustainment Officer will be supporting eight Housing Officers across the District of South Derbyshire primarily in the collection of rent and prevention of tenants falling into arrears in the current challenging financial climate. Extensive tenant contact (telephone, in person at Civic Offices and attendance at home addresses) will be required in this role. It is essential that the successful applicant can hold and manage difficult conversations with customers and record and track case progression.
