Summary
Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a long-term, live-out opportunity for a professional Housekeeper / Cook within a warm and well-established private family based in Brentwood. This role is particularly suited to a candidate who demonstrates strong housekeeping expertise alongside confident family cooking skills and who is seeking stability within a respectful private household.
The family resides in a well-presented three-storey property comprising four bedrooms and five bathrooms; however, only part of the home is regularly in use, ensuring a structured and manageable workload. The household consists of two adults, a young child, and two small, friendly dogs.
This is a full-time position of 45 working hours per week, Monday to Friday, offering consistency, routine, and long-term security. Candidates currently residing in Essex are highly preferred, as proximity to the property will support reliability, ease of commuting, and long-term suitability.
The primary focus of the role is high-standard housekeeping and confident family cooking. The successful candidate will take responsibility for maintaining the home to an excellent standard through daily cleaning, periodic deep cleaning, laundry and ironing to a good domestic level, changing bed linen, wardrobe organisation, kitchen upkeep, and ensuring overall tidiness and presentation throughout. The role also includes monitoring household supplies and undertaking occasional errands when required. The property does not contain specialist materials and entertaining is minimal, allowing the Housekeeper to concentrate on quality maintenance and organisation.
Cooking forms an important and rewarding aspect of the position. The family enjoys fresh, balanced meals prepared using quality ingredients, including vegetables, meat and fish, without restrictive dietary requirements. The candidate should therefore feel confident planning and preparing nutritious family dinners independently.
While the emphasis remains firmly on housekeeping and cooking, the family would welcome a candidate who holds a valid driving licence and is comfortable assisting with occasional nursery collections and local shopping. Child-related involvement is limited to informal interaction and light support, making the role suitable for a professional who is naturally child-friendly without requiring formal nanny responsibilities.
The household includes two small dogs, and a positive and confident attitude around pets is essential. The role may involve light assistance such as supporting established routines and ensuring the dogs’ general comfort as guided by the family.
The position offers a competitive salary of up to £49,000 gross per annum, depending on experience. In addition, the family will provide a formal employment contract and attractive benefits, including paid annual leave, a birthday day off, and other supportive provisions reflecting their appreciation of long-term commitment and professionalism.
This is a highly attractive opportunity for a skilled Housekeeper / Cook seeking a stable, long-term role in Brentwood, where their expertise in maintaining a private residence and delivering quality family cooking will be genuinely valued.
