Summary

As Imaging Lead Matron/Practitioner, the post holder is expected to ensure that the services provided are responsive to patient needs, that the planning of services involves patients and users, and reflects the diverse population served. There is an expectation that the post holder will work closely with Ward & Department Leads, Matrons, Nurse Director, Care Group colleague and across Care Groups and Trust boundaries in the interest of patient care. Be responsible for the line management of direct reports, including setting objectives and undertaking appraisals, managing conduct, performance and managing health and sickness issues as and when they arise. This includes ensuring they maintain their continuous professional development and are developed to maximise their performance in their roles. Continue to contribute and develop Radiology nursing/HCPC continued practice development in close collaboration with the higher education authorities. Support the Service Operational Managers in the management of waiting lists ensuring staff availability, so that Imaging resources are used to the maximum capacity in order to meet national Imaging targets (ie: DM01) for both Imaging diagnostic and therapeutic services. Participate in Trust-wide nursing/midwifery/practitioner projects and activities, communicating Care group and department specific issues to the wider Trust agenda Embed a learning culture to review risk, learning from incidents and near misses, by leading a solution focused approach to review, ensuring that lessons are learned and shared Ensure patient and public involvement is integral to the planning and delivery of clinical services.
