An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 therapist specialised in Spasticity Management and Neuro-disability to work within the Community neurorehabilitation services across Bexley and Greenwich.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 therapist to join the team, with excellent communication skills and a positive approach to the management of complex spasticity.
The post holder will work closely with the Lead Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist and the wider spasticity MDT Team across both boroughs. You need to be a confident autonomous practitioner with high level leadership and communication skills, a flexible problem-solving approach, good clinical reasoning skills, and be efficient in your time and people management. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in assessing and treating spasticity and other complex conditions, alongside regular supervision, support for professional development, and involvement in research and audit projects. To provide advanced specialist spasticity management input to clients as part of the specialist Community Neurorehabilitation service.
The role involves offering clinical leadership alongside the Clinical Lead Therapists for the daily operations within the specialist Community Neurorehabilitation service, with a commitment to ensuring exceptional standards of practice. This also entails supervising and supporting junior team members and students.
Additionally, you will assist the Team Manager in developing and overseeing a comprehensive clinical governance framework for the service.
Our services are delivered in the most appropriate setting for each person’s current needs—this may be their home, a day centre, clinic, or our dedicated outpatient gym.
It is also essential that you hold a full UK driving license and preferably have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes, although Oxleas offers a Lease Car Scheme to all substantive employees.

• To provide clinical leadership in partnership with the professional leads into the day-to-day delivery of spasticity management within the Community Neurorehabilitation service, ensuring the highest possible standards of practice.
• To ensure that quality standards relating to spasticity management and neurorehabilitation are continually monitored and improved.
• Provide clinical care to neurological patients in an outpatient and community setting, both independently and in MDT settings. This will include pre and post botulinum toxin injection for spasticity management.
• Use a range of highly specialist clinical assessments and skills to ensure effective treatment. This will include experience and knowledge on various physical managements for pain and spasticity.
• To provide specialist assessment and advice on seating and posture management for people with complex disabilities.
