Summary
JOB TITLE: HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT REPORTS TO: NURSE MANAGER/THE PARTNERS (Clinically) THE PRACTICE MANAGER (Administratively) DAYS: 2.5 DAYS PER WEEK - HOURS TO BE CONFIRMED Job Summary: To assist medical personnel in the care of Practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. Job Responsibilities: Support the smooth running of treatment room services and patient flow. Adhere to practice policies, confidentiality, data protection, and health & safety requirements. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary primary care team. Ensure clinical rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared in line with infection prevention and control standards. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using electronic patient systems. Chaperone patients during examinations in line with practice policy. Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of clinical waste and sharps. Maintain cold chain compliance for vaccines and medications. Monitor and record stock levels of clinical supplies and order replacements as required. Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities. Participate in practice meetings, training sessions, and mandatory updates. Maintain own professional development and work within competency boundaries at all times. Maintain continued education by attendance at courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development. Effectively manage own time, workload and resources The post-holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team Apply Practice policies, standards and guidance Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work Participate in audit where appropriate Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients needs
