Role summary
Deerwood Sanctuary is a warm, traditional care home in Wolverley, Kidderminster. We are seeking an experienced and confident Team Lead to support the day‑to‑day running of care shifts and ensure residents receive safe, dignified, person‑centred care.
Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting the care team during shifts, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard
- Overseeing personal care delivery and promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing
- Allocating duties, monitoring staff performance, and providing guidance and support
- Assisting with staff induction, mentoring, and ongoing development
- Ensuring accurate record‑keeping, care plan updates, and effective communication
- Responding to resident needs, concerns, and changes in condition
- Upholding safeguarding, infection control, and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with senior management to maintain a calm, homely environment
Requirements
- Experience working in a care setting, ideally with supervisory or senior responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and a calm, supportive leadership style
- Good understanding of person‑centred care, safeguarding, and regulatory standards
- Organised, reliable, and confident in managing shift duties
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) is desirable
