Summary
CHILDCARE & EDUCATION PRACTITIONER
Full Time - 35.83 Hours (Mon–Fri)
(Part Time – 28.67 Hours (Mon-Thu)-may be available)
Salary up to £25,202.70 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), depending on qualification
North Edinburgh Childcare is seeking an enthusiastic, caring and motivated qualified practitioner to join our Nursery Childcare Team at our Ferry Road Avenue setting. We provide high‑quality early learning and childcare for children aged 4 months to 5 years, rooted in strong relationships, inclusion and children’s rights.
You will work as part of an established, supportive team to deliver a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment where children can learn, play and thrive. Practitioners play a key role in the efficient and effective running of the setting, including:-
Promoting children’s learning, development and wellbeing through high‑quality interactions and experiences
Planning, observing and reflecting in line with Realising the Ambition: Being Me and the Curriculum for Excellence
Identifying and meeting children’s care, support and learning needs
Contributing to a positive team culture and supporting colleagues
Delegating and overseeing tasks as required to maintain smooth daily operations
Applicants must have:-
A recognised childcare qualification:- HNC in Childcare & Education; NNEB; SVQ Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning & Development; SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF Level 7; or equivalent
Knowledge of national practice guidance (Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence)
Experience working in an early learning and childcare setting
A commitment to high‑quality practice, inclusion and children’s rights
The ability to work collaboratively within a busy, supportive team
All applicants mut be eligible to:-
Register at Practitioner Level with the Scottish Social Services Council.
Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
Work in the UK and have the relevant documents to prove this.
