As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be a consistent, positive presence in the classroom. You’ll help pupils build confidence, develop independence and re-engage with learning in a safe and supportive environment. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to change futures.
What You’ll Do
Supporting pupils in small groups to access learning and achieve their goals
Working alongside teachers across a range of subjects
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and self-belief
Preparing engaging learning resources and maintaining inspiring classroom environments
Supporting pupils during transitions, breaks and unstructured times
Helping to create a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning atmosphere
Attending training and CPD to continually grow your skills
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking caring, patient, and adaptable individuals who are passionate about helping young people reach their potential. You’ll thrive if you’re resilient, calm under pressure, and a strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
Essential:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above)
Basic IT skills and confidence with digital tools
High expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
Experience in education, care, or support work
Qualifications in Childcare, Education, or Social Care
Experience supporting pupils with Autism or SEMH
