Summary
Logistics Team Leader
A great opportunity is now available with a high value, low volume manufacturer, to join their expanding team, as a Logistics Team Leader.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will have broad range of responsibilities including the supervision of the team based in the warehouse and logistics operation.
Main Duties:
- Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of Logistics operatives.
- Hold weekly team meetings to detail objectives and priorities.
- Ensure company health and safety procedures are followed.
- Monitor and manage the storage, kitting and dispatch of goods and materials.
- Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained and updated.
- Ensures strict adherence and implementation of FIFO.
- Allocate tasks and monitor team performance.
- Report and investigate discrepancies or damages in stock or deliveries.
- Ensure Kits are correctly allocated and processed.
- Assist with training new team members and upskilling existing staff.
- Liaise with procurement, production and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse areas.
- Be visible to support the team and queries relating to manufacturing
- When required, operate FLTs to support the team in moving goods
- Manage offsite storage ensuring the space is fully utilised and the rotation of stock
- Work with the Logistics Manager to ensure all servicing/testing is complete on any equipment
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous warehouse and logistics experience required, preferably gained in a manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a Stores/Warehousing environment
- Experience with computerised materials/stock control systems
- Forklift experience and licence preferred but company training is possible.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
Some flexibility with start and finish times possible but 40 hours per week, on site is required.
