You will be joining an award-winning environmental and engineering consultancy which puts innovation, sustainability and resilience at the heart of its work.

We are independent and staff-owned under a stewardship model which drives long term decision making and investment. We have offices in the UK, Ireland, Romania, India, Singapore and Australia.

Our people are all important and we invest heavily in life-long learning and skills development. JBA supports hybrid working which provides for greater flexibility with the way that we work.

Your role:

At JBA, our apprenticeships give you the chance to grow your knowledge, build industry-ready skills and begin a long, rewarding career. You’ll earn while you learn, gaining recognised qualifications and practical experience—all with comprehensive support every step of the way.

Based at our Edinburgh office our Digital Design Engineer Apprentices play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure projects for flood and coastal management, railways, reservoirs, highways and green engineering. Working with clients and construction teams across the public, private and third sectors.

This apprenticeship combines structured study (Civil Engineer HNC) with hands on workplace training. You'll work with dynamic teams across a variety of projects, benefit from shadowing opportunities with senior staff, and access a wide range of internal and external training, CPD sessions and technical seminars.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll receive dedicated support from across JBA, including:

• Our Apprenticeship Team, who guide your overall journey
• Your Apprentice Line Manager and local team, supporting day-to-day development and helping you stay aligned with your apprenticeship requirements
• A designated Apprentice Buddy to help you settle in and balance study with work life.

In addition, your training provider will provide support through Course Leads, dedicated Workplace Mentors and Apprenticeship Advisors.
