Summary


We are pleased to offer an exciting recruitment opportunity for two Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate (RNA) posts on 11 West – Respiratory Ward, Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated and compassionate Nursing Associates seeking to further develop their clinical skills within a supportive, high-performing acute inpatient team.

11 West – Respiratory is a busy acute medical ward caring for patients with complex respiratory conditions, including acute exacerbations, chronic respiratory disease and those requiring advanced respiratory support. The ward provides strong exposure to acute medical care, multidisciplinary collaboration and excellent opportunities to strengthen clinical competence within a fast-paced environment.

The team is led by experienced senior nurses committed to professional development, patient safety and maintaining high standards of care.

As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will:

Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care under the leadership of a Registered Nurse.
Contribute to assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
Monitor, record and escalate changes in patients’ condition in a timely manner.
Undertake a range of clinical skills within your scope of practice, including:

-Vital signs monitoring and NEWS scoring

-Medicines administration (oral, inhaled, enteral, subcutaneous and intramuscular)

-Venepuncture, ECG recording and blood glucose monitoring



Support patients’ physical, psychological and rehabilitative needs appropriate to the clinical area.
Promote a culture of safety by recognising risk, escalating concerns and contributing to incident reporting where required.
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous documentation.
Support and supervise Nursing Assistants and Trainee Nursing Associates.
Participate in audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
