Summary

The main purpose of the role is to support the development and improvement of good quality, affordable childcare (including school aged childcare) by:
Driving development in the area of inclusive, good quality, childcare and Early Education across the childcare sector both on domestic premises (childminders) and non-domestic premises (pre-schools, day nurseries and school aged childcare).

Supporting childcare provision to be inclusive of children with special educational needs and disabilities, including working with practitioners to upskill the workforce and develop practice.

Supporting and monitoring the quality of provision and childcare/Playwork practice across schools, the private, voluntary and independent sector (PVI) including childminders, ensuring settings identified as Ofsted judged less than a good standard are supported in developing robust improvement strategies.

Supporting professionals in providing appropriate childcare services to narrow the gap in outcomes for the most disadvantaged children.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be office based at least 2 days a week. Location: Bexley Civic Offices.

Candidate Profile

The candidate will be required to have:

A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. Childcare, Playwork, Early Years)
Experience of working in a childcare environment
Knowledge of different types of childcare providers
Good communication skills
Ability to develop and deliver training
