Job Description:
We are looking for an energetic and compassionate Support Worker to assist a young person with Prader-Willi syndrome. The role involves keeping her engaged and active, as her focus is often on food. Your support will help her stay busy, build confidence, and enjoy a fulfilling routine while also providing her parents with some well-earned respite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and participate in a variety of activities that minimise exposure to food, such as outdoor walks, gym sessions, music events, and social outings.
• Encourage and support regular movement while being mindful of muscle weakness, ensuring she has enough rest breaks when needed.
• Provide companionship and motivation to help maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
• Adapt activities to her needs and interests, ensuring they are enjoyable and engaging.
• Be patient, understanding, and supportive in managing challenges related to Prader-Willi syndrome.
• Promote independence while offering reassurance and encouragement.

What We’re Looking For:

• A friendly, energetic, and patient person who enjoys being active and out and about.
• Someone who loves the outdoors, music, and social activities.
• A good understanding of or willingness to learn about Prader-Willi syndrome.
• Experience in a support or care role is beneficial but not essential – the right attitude is most important.
• A calm and positive approach, with the ability to offer encouragement and support.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not required.

If you are enthusiastic about making a difference and think you’d be a great fit for this role, we’d love to hear from you!

There is also a 6-month probationary period with a 1 weeks’ notice within this time, if the post does not work out.
