Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing residential developer delivering high-quality housing projects across the South Coast.

This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to play a pivotal part in driving commercial performance, mentoring a team, and contributing strategically to the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple residential developments

  • Oversee cost planning, procurement strategy, and subcontractor management

  • Ensure robust cost control, valuations, and financial reporting

  • Manage budgets from pre-construction through to final account

  • Provide accurate forecasting and risk management

  • Mentor and support Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QS staff

  • Work closely with Construction, Technical, and Land teams to maximise profitability

About You

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within residential housebuilding

  • Strong commercial acumen and leadership capability

  • Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts

  • Experience managing multiple sites/projects simultaneously

  • A proactive, strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
