About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Lead to oversee the day‑to‑day running of Newmead Farm and ensure a safe, supportive and well‑organised learning environment for all pupils. As a visible and professional role model, you will lead staff, support pastoral and safeguarding systems, and work closely with the wider team to meet pupils’ individual needs. This is a key leadership role that combines operational oversight, pupil support and strong teamwork across our school community.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily site operations, ensuring high standards of pastoral care, safeguarding, attendance and wellbeing.
Work with clinical staff, SENCO and teaching teams to ensure pupils’ needs and EHCP requirements are met.
Line‑manage staff, ensuring effective communication, consistent expectations and strong relationships with parents.
Oversee site timetables, induction processes, safety plans, risk assessments and Health & Safety practices.
Support behaviour, engagement and positive learning through mentoring, supervision and strong presence on site.
Coordinate transitions, interventions and break‑time activities to enhance the pupil experience.
Maintain accurate records, contribute to Local Authority reporting and support administrative processes.
Produce reports for senior leaders and support the annual site development plan.
Represent the site at leadership meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
About You

Experience of leading a team
Understanding of child development and learning
Broad understanding of educational issues
Education to at least A level - desirable
Full UK Driving Licence

Wessex Lodge School currently comprises of three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School located in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School located in Frome, and Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley. All sites allow students the opportunity to explore the curriculum alongside a range of subject paths, including the likes of, animal care, horticulture, DT, and forest school, as well as sporting activities.
