The Role
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker and Social Workers to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Teams. The Family Support and Safeguarding Teams are responsible for supporting children and families to thrive, overcoming challenges, and ensuring children’s safety, with a focus on strengthening family relationships and improving outcomes through a creative, strengths-based approach.
These are permanents positions with the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours.
In these roles, you will be supported by a strong and consistent senior management team, with a manageable caseload, high quality reflective supervision working in supportive and creative social work teams.

Following successful completion of probation period, Social Workers in North Somerset have the right to seek Senior Workers pay if they are able to evidence the experience to an agreed standard and progress to Level 9: - £42,839 – £48,226 per annum.
Key Responsibilities and duties will include:
Undertaking S47 enquiries, assessment of need, planning, intervention and review to support children who are in need, including child protection, PLO and children who we care for.
Working collaboratively with other professionals in order to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Working Restoratively in line with our practice model of Building Connections with a small number of children and families, to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes for children
Continuously improve your practice by developing your knowledge and skills through post qualifying training.
About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about social work, and who possesses the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria:
Be a qualified Social Worker (with a Social Work England Registration) with a passion for working with children and their families to help improve their outcomes and to keep them safe from harm using a strengths-based approach.
Have sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including a clear understanding of ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ and fostering regulations and legislation.
Have an ability to build effective relationships with children, young people and families.
