Summary

Job Title: Welder / Plater / Fabricator

Location: Droitwich
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 39 hours + overtime (day shift)
Pay: £18.50 per hour

A family-owned manufacturing business specializing in bespoke work-holding solutions. They supply sectors including:

    Products: robotic welding fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, positioners, and custom fabrications using 3D CAD and CNC machinery.

    Role Overview

    Report to the Toolroom Manager and produce high-quality fabrications to drawing and specification.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols


    • Mark out, prepare, and fabricate materials


    • Manufacture jigs, templates, and patterns


    • Carry out MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-acetylene welding


    • Fabricate ferrous and non-ferrous materials, heavy plates up to 50mm


    • Perform single and multi-run welds


    • Grind, deburr, finish, and assemble components


    • Inspect and rework components as required


    • Operate overhead cranes safely


    • Maintain clean and safe work environment


    • Undertake site work when required


    • Work to production deadlines in a team environment


    • Follow company procedures and Health & Safety standards


      Experience Required
      • Time-served welder with heavy fabrication experience


      • Strong MIG and TIG welding skills


      • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings


      • Experience with thick materials and complex welds


      • Overhead crane operation essential


      • Fitting experience is a plus


        Skills & Attributes
        • Coded welder (fillet and butt welds preferred)


        • Skilled in plating and fabrication techniques


        • Safe use of grinders and abrasive equipment


        • High attention to detail


        • Strong communication and teamwork skills


        • Ability to work independently


        • Good Health & Safety awareness


          Desirable Qualifications
          • Time-served apprenticeship


          • City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC


          • NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding / Plating & Welding
