Summary

Vacancy: 2 Manufacturing Engineers

Location: Summerfield, Kidderminster, UK
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to: Production Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineers to join our Operations Team and contribute to the development and optimisation of current and future manufacturing capabilities within a high-precision, defence-focused manufacturing environment.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with production teams to:

  • Solve production challenges and bottlenecks
  • Improve processes, methods, and tooling to optimise output
  • Deliver capital projects from concept to introduction
  • Design jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and tooling as required
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process control documents
  • Support quality assurance and safety compliance
  • Monitor KPIs, identify cost reduction opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
  • Be comfortable working in an environment with energetic/explosive materials

You will play a pivotal role in enhancing shop floor safety, quality, productivity, and the successful introduction of new products.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • HNC, HND, or higher in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Proven experience in a production manufacturing environment

Essential Experience:

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques: value stream mapping, 6S, KanBan, Kaizen, MRL, PFMEA, SPC
  • Experience in ISO 9001 environments
  • Strong project delivery and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of working within a strong health & safety culture
  • IT literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)

Desirable Experience:

  • EN9100, AS9100, ISO 14001, 18001
  • Defence industry experience
  • Knowledge of quality tools and APQP methodologies (DoE, 8D, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Lean Sigma)

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation

Essential Criteria:

  • Successful candidate must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
