Summary

We are looking for motivated, forward‑thinking Radiographers with a passion for developing others. You will contribute to the education of pre‑registration trainees and support newly qualified radiographers as they transition into practice within a large, diverse radiology department.

In this Practice Educator role, you will help shape the next generation of AHP professionals by fostering high‑calibre learning opportunities and nurturing a positive, inclusive clinical learning culture.

Previous experience supporting learners and a recognised teaching, assessor, or mentorship qualification are desirable. In return, you will be supported with opportunities for your own continued professional growth.

If you are an organised and enthusiastic AHP seeking to expand into an educational role, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of our radiography workforce.

As a Practice Education Facilitator, you will be central to supporting both trainees and newly qualified radiographers. Working closely with our Lead Clinical Educators, you will help ensure that all student placements are well‑structured, safe and conducive to learning.

The post includes a blend of clinical duties and training responsibilities, allowing you to maintain and grow your clinical expertise while supporting the wider learning agenda.

You will form a vital link between the Trust and our University partners, coordinating placements and helping students settle into the organisation.

Although your main base will be New Cross Hospital, you will also support radiology placements across the wider organisation, including at Cannock Chase Hospital.

As part of the Practice Education Team, you will contribute to organising and facilitating interprofessional forums and support sessions, providing opportunities for students to develop key clinical and leadership skills.

The Trust is a supportive working environment committed to creating flexible working arrangements that suit your needs and as such will consider all requests from applicants who wish to work flexibly.

The postholder will coordinate, support, and monitor high‑quality learning opportunities within the clinical assessment environment, ensuring both public protection and the effective development of trainees. They will play an active role in helping pre‑registration learners achieve their practice assessment outcomes, supporting their progression toward professional registration and facilitating their integration into the workplace.

They will also assist newly registered radiographers and internationally recruited colleagues as they settle into the department, providing mentorship, pastoral support, and structured training. This will enable new staff members to complete all required Trust and local competency documentation confidently and successfully.

In addition, the Practice Education Facilitator will lead on device and equipment training, delivering agreed programmes of learning and participating in educational audits in collaboration with local Higher Education Institutions. This work will be undertaken with a high degree of autonomy with guidance from the Lead Clinical Educators and Superintendent Radiographers.

Further details about these responsibilities are outlined in the accompanying Job Description and Person Specification.
