Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and values‑driven Decarbonisation Manager to lead our organisation-wide effort to reduce carbon emissions and deliver sustainable, future‑focused solutions across our housing portfolio. As our Decarbonisation Manager, you'll manage high‑impact projects, work closely with internal and external partners, and play a key role in shaping our low-carbon future. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your technical expertise and leadership skills to make a meaningful difference in communities across Swansea.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Contract: Perm
Location: Swansea - Hybrid
Full UK driving license required

About the role
As our Decarbonisation Manager, you will:
Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of decarbonisation projects across our property portfolio.
Develop and implement decarbonisation strategies aligned with regulatory expectations and organisational sustainability goals.
Act as Retrofit Co‑ordinator on designated projects (PAS compliant).
Assess carbon emissions, identify opportunities for improvement, and integrate industry best practice.
Manage contractors, consultants, procurement activity, budgets, and project timelines.
Submit applications for grant funding and prepare progress reports for senior leadership and external partners.
Support our organisational transition to low‑carbon operations and represent us at sector forums and industry events.
This role includes travel to sites and requires a commitment to safe working, inclusivity, and our core values of Kindness, Trust, Innovation and Accountability.
About you
You’ll bring strong experience in sustainability, energy efficiency, or decarbonisation within the built environment. You have excellent project management skills, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and a strategic mindset.
You’ll also bring:
Strong knowledge of decarbonisation technologies and energy‑efficiency measures.
The ability to analyse data, manage budgets, and lead cross‑functional teams.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
A Retrofit Co‑ordinator qualification (or willingness to achieve it with our support).
As a Decarbonisation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal part in how we shape and deliver sustainable change.
We welcome previous experience working as:
Project Manager, Energy Manager, Sustainability Manager, Retrofit Co‑ordinator, Asset Manager, Engineering Manager, Construction Project Manager — or any similar roles with transferable skills.
