Summary
Maintenance and support of the storage area network (SAN) and provide knowledge on server and storage configuration and associated topics, including performance and capacity management Responsible for the specification, procurement and installation of the server infrastructure required to support the Trust. Responsible for the management of Digital hardware support contracts ensuring reliability, availability and value for money. Responsible for ensuring the right level of knowledge and tools are available to the Trust Digital support staff. Responsible for the development and visioning of Digital services provision in support of Trust objectives. Responsible for the implementation and adherence to relevant Trust and national policies and standards within the department and where appropriate within the Trust. Apply independent judgement in the evaluation of new and existing information systems Maintenance and support of Microsoft AlwaysOn VPN and or MS RRAS Working closely with other team members to support IT applications. e.g. Microsoft Active Directory, RD-Web, VMWare, System Centre Configuration Manager, SQL Server. Provide expertise to the implementation and ongoing support of systems and services Contribute to the production of new methodologies and solutions as required Identify and diagnose system problems, providing resolution or temporary workaround options Provide operating system and system architecture knowledge and contribute towards the creation of operating procedures Pro-active monitoring of system performance and capacity. Configuring, monitoring and validating backup and restoration services of Trust systems including supporting documentation. Log and report service disruptions Monitoring incoming support requests from the Call Logging system and resolve these as required Liaise with internal departments and third party suppliers regarding hardware and software faults Developing and maintaining documentation for central systems and servers and contribute to the production of operating procedures Analyse and implement highly complex technical solutions and contribute to Trust digital projects and solutions Help to meet national mandatory timescale requirements undertaking monitoring of actions and any problems immediately to ensure the timescales are met. Develop and deliver knowledge transfer to the Digital technical staff. Create, maintain and implement Active Directory Group Policies Create, maintain and implement drive mappings giving access to sensitive patient identifiable information to the correct people Make suggestions to the Digital Platforms Meeting on technical issues Liaise and advise with internal departments and external organisations Ensure documentation is available for all systems implemented or upgraded and ensure that this is kept up to date. Liaise with member of other teams with Digital Services to ensure the effective and efficient resolution of technical issues. Attend and contribute to meetings with the Digital Operations Team and the wider Digital Services, offering advice and solutions and help to resolve any issues and update on current and future work plans. Attend and contribute to the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) if required Responsible for suggesting new and amendments to existing policies and procedures. Responsible for the day to day virtual backup routines, completing the daily backup report sheets and reporting any problems to the Digital Services Management team as soon as possible Responsible for testing Backup recovery and DR plans Meet with technical representatives from external NHS organisations as well as external software and hardware suppliers Be responsible for the production and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures ensuring the Digital Services Teams are aware of and understand any changes.
