Summary
The University of Bath’s research is helping to change the world for the better. We work in partnership to create a healthier, more sustainable and connected future for us all.
About us
Our Research and Impact Services (RIS) department supports the full research lifecycle – from funding applications and project delivery to knowledge exchange, impact, and commercialisation. As a Business Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange Manager, you’ll be in a pivotal role at the heart of this work, enabling our Knowledge Exchange (KE) Strategy to maximise KE income and reputation.
As our Business Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange Manager, you will:
* Support the development and implementation of Knowledge Exchange plans at the University of Bath, working mainly with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)
* Facilitate existing and new relationships with industry/other external organisations and researchers.
* Secure income through Knowledge Exchange activities
About you
You will be responsible for building relationships and identifying funding opportunities to support Faculty/School Knowledge Exchange plans.
You will develop collaborative projects (including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships) between businesses and academics, securing income for these knowledge exchange activities. This will often involve preparing funding proposals for research projects that are fully funded by external organisations or via a competitive research grant scheme. You will also host workshops and events that inform and promote knowledge exchange activities as well as encourage introductions among internal staff and potential external partners.
We are looking for someone with:
* Experience of managing high level internal and/or external relationships in a business, organisational or university setting
* An understanding and interest in the applications and impact of Humanities and Social Sciences research to a range of external organisations
* Experience of writing successful business cases of research funding applications
* Influencing skills to bring people from academic and business together to develop collaborative projects
As we are recruiting a Manager to work with our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, expertise in supporting knowledge exchange with business, government, charities, or third sector, etc. would be beneficial.
