Summary

Join Us as a Finance Trustee: Strengthen Impact and Transform Life Chances

Are you motivated by purpose and highly skilled in finance? Do you want to use your expertise to help a Trust deliver exceptional education for every young person? As a Finance Trustee, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the Trust’s financial health, ensuring resources are used wisely and strategically to maximise impact across our schools.

This is your opportunity to shape long-term financial strategy, support robust decision-making, and help create the conditions where pupils and staff can thrive.

As a Finance Trustee, you will:

Drive Strategic Financial Planning: Help set and oversee budgets, reserves, and long-term financial plans, aligning investment with the Trust’s vision and priorities.

Ensure Strong Governance & Compliance: Support rigorous financial controls, risk management, and compliance with regulatory and charity requirements protecting the Trust’s sustainability and reputation.

Support and Challenge: Provide constructive challenge to senior leaders, ensuring financial decisions are robust, evidence-led, and deliver value for money, so every pound has purpose.

Champion Equity & Impact: Advise on funding priorities that support inclusion, safeguarding, and improved outcomes for all learners - especially the most vulnerable.

Collaborate at Board Level: Work with fellow Trustees and leaders to translate strategy into sustainable, well-governed delivery across multiple schools.

What We’re Looking For:

We welcome applicants from a range of financial backgrounds—qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA), finance directors, auditors, or experienced financial managers. What matters most is your ability to bring clarity, rigour, and strategic insight.

• Commitment to transforming the life chances of young people
• Experience in finance, audit, risk, or investment (education or charity sector experience is a bonus, not a must)
• Willingness to dedicate time for Board meetings, papers, and occasional committee work or school visits

Why Become a Finance Trustee?

Make a System-Level Difference: Influence the financial decisions that shape education across multiple schools, amplifying your impact.

A Rewarding, Purpose-Driven Role: See how sound financial stewardship translates into better resources, opportunities, and outcomes for pupils and staff.
Professional Growth: Develop your governance, strategic, and leadership skills in a high-trust, collaborative environment.

Early applications are encouraged, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy if a suitable candidate is found.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. As per KCSIE we will also undertake online searches for all shortlisted candidates, if you have any questions regarding this process, please emailrecruitment@tsatrust.org.uk
