Rough Sleeping Outreach and Assessment Manager
Clapham Junction, London
£41,500 - £42,000 per annum
The Role
At SPEAR, we’re proud to work in partnership with the London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth to deliver a pioneering service that tackles rough sleeping and street homelessness. As a Rough Sleeping Outreach and Assessment Manager, you will play a central role in both our Street Outreach Service and the Council’s Assessment Hub, based in Clapham Junction, Wandsworth, providing trauma-informed, person-centred support to people experiencing homelessness.
This is a leadership role with strong operational responsibilities, where you will guide and develop a team delivering outreach and assessment services to those sleeping rough. You will provide day-to-day supervision, ensure safe and effective rota cover, and oversee high-quality assessments, support planning and partnership working. By modelling a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, you will help your team build trust, connect people with the right services and long-term accommodation, and reduce the risk of homelessness recurring.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you will manage the Rough Sleeping Outreach and Assessment Team Leader role, providing direct leadership, mentoring and oversight. You will also deputise for the Operations Manager, Outreach, when required, giving you a wider strategic remit and ensuring continuity of management across SPEAR’s outreach and assessment services. This broader scope sets the Manager role apart, giving you responsibility not only for frontline delivery but also for service-wide coordination and operational decision-making.
Why join us
