Summary
Purpose: As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of company assets. Travelling to various sites as requested, maintaining and repairing all plant equipment within our range, providing onsite service to customers. Attending breakdowns, carrying out scheduled services, capturing machine damage, completing and keeping accurate and comprehensive maintenance records at all times.
Communicating effectively is a key part of the role ensuring the line manager and customers are kept informed as required. Responsibilities: • Routine maintenance and servicing of heavy plant machinery and vehicles.
• Fault finding and repairs of vehicles, small tools and heavy plant.
• Carry out scheduled service inspections and serving and repairs in compliance with manufacturers specifications.
• Preparing equipment for regular inspections. • Identify equipment for disposal and highlight to management.
• Ensure correct PPE is used at all times.
• Accurate record keeping.
• Ensure that breaches of Health and Safety are dealt with effectively and decisively and referred to the Health and Safety Advisor first and that the Contracts Manager and Managing Director are aware.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external customers, contractors and suppliers ensuring current and future needs are translated into the site operations.
• Ensure that quality assurance is maintained to company standards, including the general cleanliness/maintenance.
• Any other relevant duties as requested. Health and Safety All staff are expected to help maintain a healthy and safe working environment by:
• Familiarising themselves with Health and Safety Policy and relevant safe working practices both in spirit and in practice;
• Attending Health and Safety training as required according to work carried out and as advised by their manager;
• Not interfering with safety equipment and bringing hazards to the attention of their manager or other competent person
• Reporting any concerns to the Health and Safety Advisor.

• Proven experience as a plant fitter/engineer • Computer literate
• Practical hands-on approach
• Ability to problem solve and resolve complex issues effectively
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent organisational skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Be organised, able to meet deadlines and priorities tasks
• Be flexible and self-directed whilst also being able to follow instructions
• Ability and confidence to work on own initiative while under pressure, to problem solve and resolve issues effectively
• Have a full UK driving licence
• In date CSCS card
• NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance Key Competences:
• Adaptability – flexibility in adapting to changing situations or obstacles
• Communication – communicates effectively and appropriately with a diverse range of people to develop productive relationships. Considers views of others to achieve a positive outcome.
• Customers First – Is committed to putting customers first. Sets and delivers high standards for all service delivery.
