We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the safe, compliant and effective delivery of facility services across sites in Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Sandwell and Kidderminster.​

This hybrid role requires weekly travel to each location and close engagement with onsite Placemakers.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced FM professional capable of managing contracts, PPMs, documentation, compliance and stakeholder relationships.​

The role reports to the Regional Facilities Manager and will play a key role in supporting Placemakers to deliver an excellent workplace experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery and ongoing development of the facilities service solution across your regional sites.

Ensure a safe, healthy and compliant environment, including risk assessments, method statements, inductions, permits and contractor management.

Line manage and supervise Placemakers, including recruitment, training, development and 1-2-1s.

Visit each site weekly and manage rostering to ensure contractual staffing levels, including absence and sickness cover.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date FM documentation such as audits, COSHH records, H&S materials, SOPs and PPMs.

Oversee cost control relating to materials, consumables, pay and agency labour, ensuring delivery is commercially responsible.

Record and respond to customer queries and complaints through the agreed procedures.

Identify opportunities for service improvement, margin enhancement and additional revenue across the contract.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience in Facilities Management is essential, including PPMs, contract management and stakeholder engagement.

Ability to lead and support a small team.

Strong operational problem-solving skills and resilience.

Excellent communication skills.

UK driving licence (regional travel required).
