The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing space for children after school hours. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with young people, particularly those with experience in special education or working with children with disabilities. The role involves assisting with daily activities, supporting behavioural development, and fostering a positive atmosphere for all attendees.
Duties
• Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist with organising and facilitating educational and recreational activities tailored to children's interests and needs
• Support children with special educational needs or disabilities, adapting activities as required
• Provide one-to-one tutoring or support for children who require additional assistance in their learning
• Engage children in creative play, arts and crafts, and group games to promote social skills and development
• Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour
• Ensure the environment remains clean, organised, and welcoming for all children
• Prepare snack for children
• Support children with their homework
Qualifications
• Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or childcare setting
• Knowledge of special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues
• Teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous
• Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding towards children's diverse needs
• Ability to organise activities that are fun, educational, and inclusive
• Prior experience in toddler care is beneficial but not essential

• Confidential counselling sessions (one-to-one) for staff, whether or not absence has already occurred.

• Menopause support: Information and counselling tailored to menopause-related issues.
• Chronic illness & cancer support: Specialist pastoral and health-related support for staff dealing with serious/long-term conditions.
• Preparing for parenthood transitions: Support for staff undertaking maternity/paternity/adoption leave and return-to-work phases.
6. Leadership & Wellbeing Culture Support
• Support for senior leaders and wellbeing leads: leadership clinics, wellbeing webinars, and development modules to embed a positive culture.
• Workshops and services to help embed wellbeing into school procedures and daily routines, thus promoting a whole-school wellbeing culture.
