We are currently recruiting for Trainee Teaching Assistants in Wakefield to support our partner Primary and SEND Schools.

Whether you already have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or SEN Teaching Assistant, or you are looking to transition into education with transferable skills, we would love to hear from you.
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant in Wakefield, you will:
  • Support pupils during classroom learning activities
  • Help children understand tasks and complete work confidently
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Provide small group and 1:1 intervention support where required
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
You may provide support for children with:
  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
  • Additional learning needs
This role would suit someone interested in support roles in Rotherham schools or developing a career in education, child development, or pastoral support.

Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Safeguarding Children Level 1 (or willingness to complete training)
  • Previous school experience OR transferable skills (youth work, care work, coaching, mentoring, nursery work, etc.)
  • A genuine passion for working in education
